Our Service is on the lookout for a reliable and enthusiastic Kitchen Hand to join their team As a Kitchen Hand, you will play a vital role in supporting our chefs and cooks in preparing healthy and delicious meals for children with various dietary requirements. Essential Qualifications- Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred.- Knowledge of basic food preparation and kitchen hygiene practices.- Ability to work efficiently and follow instructions.- Good communication and teamwork skills.- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively.- Understanding of child care centre environments is a plus.

Essential Skills and Attributes

1. Food Preparation:
- Assist with the preparation of meals and snacks as per the menu plan.- Wash, peel, chop, and slice vegetables and fruits.- Prepare simple dishes under the guidance of the Head Chef.

2. Kitchen Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.- Ensure all surfaces, including counters and floors, are clean and sanitised.

3. Food Safety and Hygiene:
- Adhere to food safety standards and regulations.- Ensure proper storage of food items, checking for expiry dates.- Follow procedures for minimizing contamination and foodborne illnesses.

4. Inventory Management:
- Assist in monitoring and managing kitchen supplies and ingredients.- Report low stock levels to the Head Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.

5. Waste Management:
- Dispose of kitchen waste in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.- Follow recycling protocols where applicable.

6. Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team and child care staff.- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.- Assist in setting up and clearing dining areas as needed.

7. Compliance and Safety:
- Comply with all health and safety regulations.- Participate in regular safety and hygiene training sessions.- Ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment.
