The Opportunity

We're seeking a skilled and motivated General Hand to join our Operations team at Springvale Botanical Cemetery. As a key member of our team, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and presenting our unique open spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with gravedigging operations and prepare burial sites.
  • Support the Horticulture Team with maintenance and gardening duties, including pruning, weeding, irrigating, mulching, fertilizing, mowing, spraying, and planting.
  • Operate plant and equipment, including ride-on mowers, brush cutters, and powered gardening equipment.
  • Assist with on-ground queries from the public and provide support to other operational teams as needed.

About You

  • You'll need a current Victorian driver's license (manual) and a Certificate III (or above) in Horticulture or relevant experience.
  • You'll be able to plan and prioritize work, operate plant and equipment safely, and handle horticultural chemicals.
  • You'll have excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
