Senior Project Engineer Job Overview

Leading a team of project engineers to plan, forecast and manage large-scale infrastructure projects is an exciting challenge at our company. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will work closely with the Area Supervisor to deliver the full design and construction program, ensuring timely delivery, optimal profitability and compliance across all phases.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor project engineers in planning and executing infrastructure projects
  • Collaborate with the Area Supervisor to develop and implement project plans
  • Manage workforce, safety, quality and scheduling needs to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Track and report variations, ensuring timely communication and updates
  • Oversee construction dashboards, trackers and completion artefacts to monitor project progress
  • Coordinate stock orders and manage construction changes effectively
  • Support financial forecasting, budget tracking and reconciliation to ensure project financial stability
  • Analyse KPIs and lead improvement initiatives to enhance project performance
  • Ensure contract compliance and manage exemptions for KPI breaches

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering (or related field) – desirable
  • Project Management certification (PMBOK, PMP, Prince2) – desirable
  • Prior experience in large-scale infrastructure projects – essential
  • Strong leadership, financial and commercial acumen – required
