
Water Management Specialist

The Water Management Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the exceptional water quality and management of our aquatic collection. This dynamic position involves overseeing daily operations, implementing standard operating procedures, maintaining equipment, sourcing suppliers, and supporting research initiatives focused on water quality management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive water management plans to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Maintaining and upgrading life support systems, plumbing, and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Conducting regular assessments of water quality and habitat maintenance to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborating with various departments to ensure seamless aquatics management and water quality for the zoo's aquatic collection.
- Staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in water management to inform strategic decisions.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years' experience in aquarium management or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of freshwater and saltwater chemistry, as well as expertise in life support systems and mechanical skills.
- Strong project management and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to adapt to changing environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
