Job Summary

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of clinical expertise and leadership skills. As a Quitline Supervisor Counsellor, you will be responsible for providing clinical oversight and guidance to a team of counsellors, ensuring that they are equipped to provide high-quality support to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to counsellors, including assessment, treatment planning, and delivery of evidence-based counselling services.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of the Quitline service.
  • Collaborate with the Quitline Clinical Lead to develop and implement clinical policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of training programs for counsellors.
  • Provide support and guidance to clients, including those with complex or high-risk clinical issues.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years post-clinical experience in counselling and registration with the peak body associated with the qualified discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing mentoring and training to counsellors in a clinical service.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and implementing quality improvement opportunities for service improvement.
  • High level verbal and written communication skills, including clinical documentation and client communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm and execute services with confidence and patience in a high-pressure environment.
  • Willingness to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and outside business hours, and flexibility to assist with backfilling shifts at times.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in providing clinical services and advice in a telephone counselling environment.
  • Experience in developing and implementing clinical quality improvement initiatives.
