Laundry Services Assistant Role

We are seeking a skilled Laundry Services Assistant to join our team in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing effective and efficient laundry services, ensuring a clean, safe, and home-like environment for residents and staff.

About the Role
  • Collecting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing residents' clothing, linen, and other items in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Operating commercial laundry equipment according to procedures.
  • Following infection control protocols in handling and processing laundry.
  • Ensuring laundry is labelled, sorted, and returned to the correct residents.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the laundry area.
  • Safely using and storing laundry chemicals and materials in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Participating in workplace health and safety initiatives.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have training or experience in laundry operations or similar support services. A current National Police Certificate (or ability to acquire) and knowledge/experience in chemical handling and infection control are also required. Experience in residential aged care or a similar environment is highly regarded.
