Job Overview

This position is critical to the operation and management of water monitoring networks. The successful candidate will provide leadership and supervision to a team in delivering timely, accurate and high-quality water monitoring data to all stakeholders.

The role involves providing technical advice, supervising and training staff, coordinating resources and managing contractors to ensure effective delivery of operational requirements.

The Water Monitoring Team Leader will also be responsible for leading continual improvement of quality assurance systems, managing audit programs and contributing to the development of work instructions and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical guidance and supervise staff to ensure the installation, maintenance and repair of water monitoring sites.
  • Lead and support the coordination, collection, verification and archiving of high-quality water monitoring data and information.
  • Manage and operate a broad network of water monitoring infrastructure, instruments and databases.
  • Work collaboratively with the Greater Sydney Water Monitoring Leadership Team to deliver strategic projects and drive efficiencies.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree or Diploma in Water Operations, Science, Engineering, Asset Management or equivalent experience.
  • Proven supervisory experience with the ability to provide leadership, develop teamwork and continuously improve operational performance.
  • Strong experience in environmental monitoring data collection, storage and management.
  • Good knowledge of water management issues and environmental processes.
  • Attuned to contemporary organisational change and transformation initiatives.
  • Current NSW driver's licence.
