Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join our team at Weir Minerals in Artarmon. As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for performing general fitting and assembly duties to all forms of equipment, working safely, reliably, and accurately to operating instructions and working drawings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing workshop repairs and refurbishments on critical equipment.
  • Inspecting and repairing mechanical infrastructure.
  • Repair, maintain, and test equipment as per scope of work.
  • Preventative maintenance of plant and equipment, with a focus on maintaining safety and maximizing production.
  • Resolve operational and technical equipment concerns.
  • Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

Requirements:

  • Minimum qualification – Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Mechanical Fitter).
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
  • Experience with heavy machinery, fault finding, repairs of equipment.
  • Welding and machining experience is desirable, but not essential.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and write reports.
  • Competent with the use of CMMS (computerized maintenance management system).
