About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Flood Modeller to join our team at Beca. As a key member of our hydrology team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality flood modelling services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage flood modelling projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality results.
  2. Collaborate with other design disciplines, including Civil, Structural, and Electrical, to support the integrity of overall designs.
  3. Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  4. Apply project management principles to carry out assigned tasks and achieve project deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner.
  5. Contribute to the development of flood models, including building and maintaining complex hydrological and hydraulic models.
  6. Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  1. An appropriate Engineering degree, preferably in a field related to hydrology or a related field.
  2. Chartered or near Chartered status with a relevant professional body.
  3. A strong track record of successful project delivery, with experience in flood modelling and impact assessment.
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  5. Knowledge of Australian Rainfall & Runoff 2019 guidelines and approaches, as well as experience with hydrological and hydraulic modelling software, such as RORB, TUFLOW, and HEC-RAS.
  6. A desire to grow and develop within the Beca business, with a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
