
Maintenance Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Doncaster. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of all plant and machinery, conducting risk assessments, and undertaking planned preventative maintenance and lubrication schedules.
Job Description:
The successful applicant will be working on a 12-hour shift pattern, 4 days on and 4 days off, as part of our Anaerobic Digestion facility team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to join an established and growing company that is committed to helping conserve natural resources and protect the environment.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including repairing and replacing mechanical parts, such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, and valves.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate them.
- Undertake planned preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment is running efficiently and effectively.
- Operate Depac equipment as required.
- Respond to and resolve SCADA alarms promptly.
- Complete reactive tasks as per defect list and obtain readings from various on-site meters.
- Assist with contractor and third-party asset services and general housekeeping duties.
- Complete all logs and job sheets as required.
- Adhere to all Site and Saria Group Health and Safety Regulations.
- Install and maintain equipment to minimize downtime.
- Support other departments as needed.
Requirements:
- A recognized apprenticeship or CGLI qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Relevant engineering experience, preferably in the AD industry.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Dual-skilled mechanical/electrical desirable but not essential.
- Familiarity with centrifugal, lobe, diaphragm, and screw pumps.
- Ability to replace shafts, seals, and bearings, pipework, fittings, and couplings.
- Confidence with valve replacements and basic pneumatics.
- Comfortable working at heights.
