Emergency Response Team Member

The role of an Emergency Response Team Member is multifaceted and requires individuals who can work effectively in a dynamic environment to ensure the safety of people and property.

This position involves responding to emergency incidents, promoting community safety and preparedness through education activities, and maintaining the required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training.

  • Employer's written consent to attend incidents and emergencies
  • Ability to live or work within a reasonable distance of the response team station
  • Australian Permanent Resident Status
  • Manual C Class driver's licence

Key Requirements include attending incident and emergency calls, committing to 50% of calls as a day worker with routine hours or 30% as a shift worker or non-routine hours, attending 75% of regular drill and training sessions, obtaining an MRV licence within 12 months of employment, participating in ongoing skills acquisition and maintenance programs, and complying with policies and procedures.

As an Emergency Response Team Member, you will be working in a collaborative environment with opportunities to develop your competencies and contribute to the upkeep and hygiene of station facilities. You will also operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner and contribute to incident reporting and general station administration.
