We are seeking an experienced Auxiliary Firefighter to join our team as an Emergency Response Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in their community.
About the Role
As an Emergency Response Specialist, you will be part of a dynamic team that responds to various emergency situations, including fires, rescues, and natural disasters. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in responding to emergency calls, promoting community safety and emergency preparedness, and contributing to incident reporting and general station administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency incidents, including fires, rescues, and natural disasters;
- Promote community safety and emergency preparedness by contributing to community education activities;
- Develop and maintain competencies by actively participating in regular drills and other relevant training courses provided by QFES;
- Maintain the required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training;
- Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner;
- Contribute to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities;
- Ensure maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities;
- Contribute to incident reporting and general station administration as required;
- Promote a positive team approach in all work activities;
- Comply with legislative, policy, and procedural requirements appropriate to the position;
- Communicate effectively with QFES personnel, other emergency service providers, and the general community;
- Contribute to a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to organisational health principles and procedures.
Estimated Salary
A competitive salary of around $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
About the Location
This role is based in Boyne Island, Queensland, and requires applicants to live or work within a reasonable distance of the auxiliary fire station.
