Design Innovation Position

We're seeking a talented Junior Industrial Designer to spearhead design development. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects in Australia and internationally.

The role involves collaborating with the team on industrial strategies, documentation, and providing design support. Responsibilities include delivering multiple design projects from concept to implementation, creating sketches, renderings, and 3D models using CAD software, conducting project research, and analysing data to provide strategic advice.

Junior Industrial Designers must be self-motivated, enthusiastic to learn and take on new challenges with a positive attitude.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Deliver multiple design projects from strategy/concept through to implementation.
  • Support creation of sketches, renderings, and 3D models using CAD software.
  • Conduct project and user research, and analyse data to provide high-level strategic advice.
  • Manage own time efficiently and work to project and internal deadlines.
  • Collaborate with other design disciplines to co-ordinate and deliver successful designs.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD and 3D modeling software.
  • Familiarity with graphic design software.
  • Strong sketching, rendering, and visualisation skills.
  • Basic understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and user-centered design principles.
  • Fluent in English with great written, spoken, and interpersonal communication skills.

Reporting Structure:

Reports directly to the Melbourne Associate Industrial Designer and relevant Project Leads.
