Advanced Psychosocial Practitioner

This pivotal role involves leading the delivery of advanced psychosocial assessments, counseling, advocacy, and support for consumers and their carers.
The successful candidate will exercise high-level professional judgement in complex clinical cases, drive continuous quality improvement, and provide expert mentorship to staff and students.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing best practice initiatives to ensure care is evidence-based, ethical, and person-centred.
- Providing expert supervision and education to multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Building strong collaborative relationships with other service providers to ensure seamless, holistic care.
Working at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital, a tertiary hospital with affiliations to three universities, offers a range of roles and experiences to employees. The hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and serves one of Australia's most multicultural local government areas.
The ideal candidate will have extensive postgraduate experience working as a Social Worker in relevant clinical areas, including a demonstrated understanding of complex health conditions and their impact on wellbeing.
They will also possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal), computer skills, and experience working independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
A key aspect of this role is providing clinical supervision and expert advice/consultation to the social work service and the clinical specialty. Additionally, the successful candidate will be committed to social justice and equity in healthcare.
Eligibility for permanent appointment requires Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
