Role Overview

The Auxiliary Firefighter role is a critical part of our emergency response team, working to prevent, prepare, respond, and recover from emergency situations.

As an Auxiliary Firefighter, you will be responsible for responding to fire and other emergency incidents, promoting community safety and emergency preparedness, and maintaining the required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to fire and other emergency incidents, ensuring the safety of people and property.
  • Contribute to community education activities, promoting safety and emergency preparedness.
  • Develop and maintain competencies through regular drills and training courses, ensuring safety and effectiveness on the fire ground.
  • Maintain the required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training.
  • Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment in a safe and effective manner.

Requirements

  • Employers written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable)
  • Live or work within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire station
  • Australian Permanent Resident Status
  • Manual C Class driver's licence
