National Senior Data Governance Specialist

**Job Overview**
We are seeking a highly skilled National Senior Information Manager to join our Corporate Information Technology team in Australia. This role will act as the Data Custodian for the hub and as the primary Information Manager for all central functions, ensuring the security, integrity, and accessibility of data assets.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of data loss prevention & detection technologies, data security principles and practices, including data encryption, access control, and data backup and recovery.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Establish roles and responsibilities for the information management team, working closely with the relevant Functional Lead(s) to ensure alignment and efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with regional counterparts to prepare, agree upon, and communicate Information Standards and Methods & Procedures, including the documentation process.
- Evaluate data classification requirements and develop business cases for new or updated business data classifications.
- Deliver training to data stewards on data classification, labelling, and data leakage prevention, and provide system support and training for Microsoft Purview.
- Maintain a security-minded approach to data, ensuring correct access rights are in place for an appropriate period.

- You have experience in data governance and risk management.
- You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- You are proficient in documenting data governance rules and procedures.
**Benefits:**
We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of AU$140,000 - AU$160,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus superannuation benefits and a generous leave entitlement. We also provide opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
**Location:**
This is a full-time position based in Sydney, with regular travel to other Laing O'Rourke offices across Australia. We are committed to providing a safe and inclusive work environment for all employees.
