Academic Excellence Manager Role

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our academic governance and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of risk and regulatory frameworks related to international education.

This role is responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of policy frameworks, managing RMIT's risk profile, and leading compliance reporting to meet regulatory obligations. The successful candidate will also support governance boards and committees, contribute to accreditation and audit processes, and drive a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.

The successful applicant will be a strategic thinker with a collaborative approach to leadership. They will have the ability to mentor and guide staff to deliver high-quality governance and compliance outcomes, while ensuring alignment with RMIT's broader values and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain policy frameworks that ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Manage RMIT's risk profile and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks.
  • Lead compliance reporting and ensure timely submission of reports to regulatory bodies.
  • Support governance boards and committees in making informed decisions.
  • Contribute to accreditation and audit processes to ensure ongoing compliance.

About You

We are looking for an individual with:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (postgraduate desirable).
  • Proven leadership and management experience in an education setting.
  • Expert knowledge of risk and regulatory frameworks related to international education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to mentor, coach and develop staff.
