Deputy Director International Coordination

This role is an exciting opportunity to join the National Support Division and contribute to the establishment of a new National Support Concept. As Deputy Director International Coordination, you will work closely with the Director National Support Engagements to develop and manage civilian - military engagements with international partners.

The primary objective of this role is to facilitate access to national support capacity and capabilities. You will be responsible for managing the development, advocacy, prioritisation and coordination of advice on complex strategic and international policy issues relating to the National Support Division. This will involve working with internal and external stakeholders, including senior officials and international counterparts.

To achieve these objectives, you will need to possess strong communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to lead yourself and others through collaborative relationships and planning. Additionally, you will require the ability to make recommendations to resolve problems using expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action.

You will also be responsible for identifying and addressing directorate risks proactively, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with Defence values. To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate high-level organisational skills, self-drive and initiative, as well as the ability to influence others to achieve tasks and business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing civilian - military engagements with international partners;
  • Coordinating advice on complex strategic and international policy issues relating to the National Support Division;
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to achieve national-wide outcomes;
  • Fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with Defence values;

In order to be considered for this role, you will need to have experience working in a logistics, stakeholder engagement, national government and/or security context. A qualification in Business Administration, International Relations, Public Administration or related discipline is also highly desirable.
