Family Violence Support Worker

The Department of Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Violence Support Worker to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with individuals affected by family violence, providing them with the support and resources they need to recover and thrive.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality services that make a real difference in people's lives.

  • You will be working closely with clients, providing them with information, assessment, counselling, referrals, group work, and other forms of therapeutic intervention.
  • You will also contribute to the development, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of programs and group sessions.
  • Your role will involve providing information and support, referral, and advice to clients and other service providers.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide specialist assessment as part of the government integrated Safe at Home response.
  2. Assist adults to recover from their experience of family violence through the provision of information, assessment, counselling, referrals, group work, and other appropriate forms of therapeutic intervention.
  3. Contribute to and participate in the development, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of programs and group sessions.
Requirements:
  • Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or in the case of self-regulated allied health professions with either full membership or eligible for membership with the relevant professional association.
  • Current Working with Children Registration.
