Job Title

The Security Specialist plays a key role in the team, reporting directly to the Principal Security Specialist. This position combines technical skills with consultancy and/or project management, depending on client requirements and personal direction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, review and improve work processes and procedures for certificate management and Domain Name Registration in the qld.gov.au namespace.
  • Understand and manage the Queensland Government domain name registration process.
  • Manage and lead the CITEC SSL certificate service, including vendor selection and management processes.
  • Coordinate and manage DNSSEC and DMARC implementation for agencies.
  • Perform web development activities and support for Govnet websites.
  • Manage and lead to provide innovative Govnet services to agencies.
  • Undertake other tasks/domains within Information Security Services as required.

This is an opportunity to contribute to the security and innovation of Govnet services.


Required Skills And Qualifications
  • Strong technical background with expertise in certificate management, domain name registration, DNSSEC, and DMARC.
  • Experience in project management, consultancy, and leadership roles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in web development languages and technologies.
