Maintenance Planner Role

This role involves creating and managing executable work orders aligned to asset strategies, maintenance plans, and business goals. You will collaborate with multiple teams, optimize resource planning, monitor costs, and drive the reliability and performance of critical assets across the operation.

As part of the Maintenance Planning & Engineering team, you will create and manage work orders, support shutdown planning for fixed plant equipment, optimize resources, review asset condition, and monitor cost performance.

  • Review and prioritize approved maintenance notifications and provide feedback to originators.
  • Estimate labor, equipment downtime, and resource requirements for non-urgent work.
  • Plan detailed work orders and coordinate specialized external contractors when required.
  • Analyze maintenance history and ensure accurate data updates for damage and failure causes.
  • Initiate warranty and repairable/rotatable processes for corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Review upcoming work against asset criticality, safety, statutory, and project requirements.
  • Identify and resolve scope conflicts, adjusting downtime and schedules as necessary.
  • Monitor planned vs actual costs, support budget forecasting, and escalate major variances.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Experience in power station maintenance or a similar industry.
  • Knowledge of maintenance management systems such as SAP.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Willingness to work in a remote mine site on a 5:2/4:3 roster.
  • You must be located in Australia and have current right to work to be considered for this role.
  • You must have a full manual driving license to be considered.
