Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager – Inventory, the Inventory Supervisor will play a pivotal role within our Warehouse Operations. Our enthusiastic and committed team relies on the Inventory Supervisor to address challenges and maintain the integrity of our inventory, ensuring we deliver exceptional service and quality to our clientele. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to integrity, effective communication, and inventory management, contributing positively to our workplace culture. A willingness to embrace new processes and a mindset geared towards continuous improvement are essential as we expand our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers, either directly or through team members, to ensure service expectations are met through feedback mechanisms.
- Promote a culture of safety within the organization and conduct thorough reviews and investigations of all incidents.
- Alert management to significant issues such as stock shortages and non-compliance with processes.
- Recommend corrective actions to address and prevent future stock-related issues.
- Minimize inventory shrinkage by enhancing operational processes.
- Undertake additional duties as required.
- Investigate and reconcile discrepancies in inventory.
- Maintain and enhance inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and report on all stock discrepancies.
- Conduct stock takes and cycle counts.
- Proactively manage all inventory-related challenges.
- Prepare reports on results and compile usage and reconciliation data.
- Supervise a small inventory management team to accomplish daily and weekly tasks that impact operational performance.
Skills & Experience:
- Prior experience in warehouse operations and management within retail logistics, particularly in FMCG environments.
- Proven ability to lead a team towards continuous performance improvement and establish effective teamwork processes.
- Familiarity with Manhattan WMS is advantageous.
- Strong numeracy, literacy, and analytical skills.
- Proficient in MS Office applications at an intermediate level or higher.
- Experience in process improvement and documentation.
- Qualifications in Warehousing/Inventory Management are desirable but not mandatory.
- A minimum of 2-3 years in a similar inventory-focused role.
