Inventory Control Specialist

At Lineage Logistics, we're committed to creating a world where food moves safely and efficiently from farm to table. As a critical link in our food supply chain, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of inventory control outcomes.
As an Inventory Control Manager, you'll lead a small team at our Hume Road, Laverton North facility, the largest temperature-controlled storage and distribution site in the Southern Hemisphere. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional inventory control services, creating efficiencies and recommending improvements to drive business growth.
Reporting to our collaborative and experienced General Manager, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact across different teams and our customer portfolio. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing inventory control responsibilities, including inventory checks, cycle counting, and pick bin reconciliation against customer requirements.
- Communicating with key customer contacts to ensure continuous reporting of inventory issues, adjustments, and discrepancies.
- Identifying root causes of discrepancies and amending procedures, systems, and processes where required.
- Driving efficiency gains through the identification of inventory issues and recommending changes.
- Managing annual, cyclical, and ad-hoc stock taking processes, including timely reporting.
- Standardizing processes and systems across the site to ensure day-to-day inventory control operations are managed consistently, efficiently, and effectively.
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
- Experience in a similar role, preferably in the industry.
- Qualifications in Warehousing and Distribution or relevant technical experience.
- Experience leading a small team.
- Experience in managing and operating inventory systems, procedures, and operational practices.
- Experience in planning and managing stock takes.
- Experience liaising with customers regarding inventory processes.
- Strong understanding and experience in implementing safety procedures, product safety, quality, and legality issues.
