Payroll Expert

A highly skilled Payroll Specialist is required to deliver accurate and timely payroll processing for business units across the organisation.

Reporting to a senior team leader, you will be responsible for day-to-day payroll operations, ensuring compliance with legislation and relevant agreements. You will also maintain accurate payroll procedures, documentation, and database integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the day-to-day operations of payroll, including timesheet processing.
  • Interpret employment conditions and provide accurate advice to employees in collaboration with HR.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, enterprise agreements, and internal policies.
  • Maintain accurate payroll procedures, documentation, and database integrity.
  • Assist in system testing and updates for the payroll module.
  • Complete year-end processes including salary accruals and leave liability reporting.
  • Provide payroll data and reports for budgeting, grants, WorkCover, superannuation, and other payments.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Payroll specialist role or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience in efficiently and accurately processing the end-to-end payroll function, including wages, STP, Superannuation, and WorkCover.
  • Experience with a range of systems and databases.
  • Prior experience in preparing large/complex payrolls, including interpretation and administration of employment legislation.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide and report accurate information.
