Role Overview

As a Pastoral Care Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Pastoral Care team
  • Fostering nurturing and effective relationship management
  • Engaging in continuous professional, personal, and spiritual development
  • Ensuring accurate and appropriate documentation and reporting

Essential Qualifications:

Educational Background:

  • Completion of one or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent.
  • Relevant studies in pastoral or theological disciplines.

Your experience should demonstrate:

  • A solid understanding of and experience in collaborating with teams within a large, complex church or non-profit organization
  • An awareness of the pastoral and spiritual needs of those receiving services from Uniting
  • Empathy and a connection with vulnerable populations
  • A clear understanding of the differences between Religion and Spirituality
  • A foundational knowledge of various faiths, including Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, and Sikhism
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, alongside moderate computer proficiency
  • A demonstrated commitment to social change and contributing to an influential organization for the disadvantaged

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate qualifications in a relevant field
