This position is part of the Mission team and delivers impactful pastoral care services to individuals in our support across Uniting - Tumut. The focus of this role is to apply the values of Uniting and principles that are culturally appropriate, age-sensitive, and attuned to the needs of those we serve.

Our diverse range of services is designed collaboratively, centered around the needs and aspirations of individuals in everyday community life.
Role Overview
As a Pastoral Care Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Pastoral Care team
- Fostering nurturing and effective relationship management
- Engaging in continuous professional, personal, and spiritual development
- Ensuring accurate and appropriate documentation and reporting
Essential Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- Completion of one or more units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent.
- Relevant studies in pastoral or theological disciplines.
Your experience should demonstrate:
- A solid understanding of and experience in collaborating with teams within a large, complex church or non-profit organization
- An awareness of the pastoral and spiritual needs of those receiving services from Uniting
- Empathy and a connection with vulnerable populations
- A clear understanding of the differences between Religion and Spirituality
- A foundational knowledge of various faiths, including Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, and Sikhism
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, alongside moderate computer proficiency
- A demonstrated commitment to social change and contributing to an influential organization for the disadvantaged
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate qualifications in a relevant field
