Opportunity for Indigenous Researcher: Explore Genomic Healthcare
About the PositionThis role is designed to support an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander researcher in their academic and career development.
- Gain hands-on experience in a laboratory environment.
- Develop expertise in genomic and multi-omic sequencing techniques.
- Contribute to closing the gap in genomic healthcare.
The Fellowship is flexible, accommodating the successful candidate's needs. Funding can be used for relocation, travel, stipend, skills development, and professional growth.
Key Selection CriteriaThe ideal candidate will:
- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
- Hold a postgraduate degree in biology, genetics, biotechnology, health sciences, or a relevant field.
- Have prior exposure to laboratory work.
- Be available to undertake the Fellowship at WEHI in Melbourne, Australia (remote work options available).
This position is offered on a full-time or part-time basis, with a duration of 3-24 months to be negotiated based on the candidate's career stage.
