We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Auxiliary Firefighter.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in your community by providing emergency response services and supporting the prevention of fires and other emergencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to fire and other emergency incidents, working collaboratively with a team to ensure effective responses.
- Promote community safety and emergency preparedness through education and awareness activities.
- Develop and maintain competencies by participating in regular drills and training courses.
- Maintain required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training.
- Operate specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively.
- Contribute to the upkeep and hygiene of station facilities.
- Ensure maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities.
- Contribute to incident reporting and general station administration as required.
Requirements
- Australian Permanent Resident Status.
- Manual C Class driver's licence.
- Employers written consent to attend incidents and emergencies (where applicable).
- Live or work within a reasonable distance of auxiliary fire station.
Working Arrangements
As an Auxiliary Firefighter, you will be expected to commit to attending 50% of calls as a day worker with routine hours, or 30% of calls as a shift worker or have non-routine hours. You will also be required to attend 75% of regular drill and training sessions.
