About the Role

We are seeking a Fire Service Specialist to join our team at Queensland Fire and Emergency Services. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about providing high-quality fire, rescue, emergency, and disaster management services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to fire and other emergency incidents as part of a team, promoting community safety and emergency preparedness through education and training activities.
  • Develop and maintain competencies by actively participating in regular drills and other relevant training courses provided by QFES to ensure safety and effectiveness on the fire ground.
  • Maintain required attendance standards for emergency incidents and training, operating specialist firefighting and rescue equipment safely and effectively.
  • Contribute to upkeep and hygiene of station facilities, ensuring maintenance and repair of operational equipment and station facilities.
  • Participate in incident reporting and general station administration as required, promoting a positive team approach in all work activities.
Requirements
  • Australian Permanent Resident Status.
  • Manual C Class driver's licence.
  • Ability to attend 50% of calls as a day worker with routine hours or 30% of calls as a shift worker or have non-routine hours.
  • Willingness to obtain an MRV licence within 12 months of employment.
  • Commitment to personal development and ongoing skills acquisition.
