Role Overview
The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Act Coordinator to support mental health tribunal processes and uphold the principles of the Mental Health Act.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support mental health tribunal processes
- Ensure mental health act principles are upheld
- Operate between Waratah office (Moonee Ponds) and the hospital
- Participate in clinical service development activities
- Encourage and support quality initiatives and research
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Formal qualifications in a relevant field (registered psychiatric nurse, occupational therapist, psychologist, or social worker)
- Minimum 5 years experience in mental health
- Strong understanding of legal and ethical principles of the Mental Health Act
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently
- Excellent organisation, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
