Job Description:

The role of Construction Worker is integral to the maintenance and construction of roads, footpaths, drainage, concrete works, and other infrastructure projects in the Snowy Monaro region.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Operating assigned plant and carrying out labouring duties in accordance with Council standards, timetable, environmental and quality objectives
  • Operating minor plant including line markers, hoists, elevated work platforms, trucks, tractors, rollers, mowers, slashers, edgers and brushcutters etc.
  • Facilitating Traffic Control at Worksites as directed

Some specific tasks involve operating a variety of plant equipment, such as line markers, hoists, elevated work platforms, trucks, tractors, rollers, mowers, slashers, edgers, and brush cutters, all while maintaining safety standards. Ensuring that plant, equipment, and hand tools are properly maintained and safe for use is also crucial.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a current valid Driver's Licence Class MR unrestricted
  • Demonstrate ability to operate various plant, including Line Markers, Hoists, Elevated Work Platforms, Trucks, Tractors, Rollers, Mowers, Slashers, Brush Cutters etc.
  • Understand the importance of maintaining plant, equipment, and hand tools in a safe and usable condition
