About the Job

This role plays a pivotal part in driving UNSW's research initiatives, focusing on single molecule localisation microscopy combined with electrochemistry.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead an in-depth research project that combines fluorescence microscopy with electrochemistry to control fluorophore properties.
  • Contribute to collaborative research efforts aimed at securing grants and enhancing research outcomes.
  • Design and execute experiments to explore the impact of electrochemistry on fluorescent properties of fluorophores and develop innovative microscopy methods based on single molecule counting.
  • Analyse experimental data, interpret results, and disseminate findings through suitable channels and forums.
Requirements
  • A PhD in optical physics or cell biology with a strong emphasis on fluorescence microscopy is essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in fluorescence microscopy, immunolabelling, and single molecule localisation microscopy is mandatory.
  • Experience or interest in electrochemistry is highly desirable.
  • The ability to undertake high-quality academic research and conduct independent work with limited supervision, as well as collaborative work in a team, is expected.
