A Combat System Engineer is required to contribute to and execute key activities supporting requirements analysis, architecture definition and development of subsystems and associated components.

This includes developing and maintaining system functional and non-functional requirements and design artefacts, as well as preparing for and supporting the execution of major program milestones such as design reviews, test readiness and system readiness reviews.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for interacting with specialty engineering disciplines to achieve design assurance and holistic system compliance.

Responsibilities">
  • Contribute to the analysis, definition and development of Combat System (CS) subsystems and associated components.
  • Develop, maintain and update system functional and non-functional requirements and design artefacts.
  • Support the preparation and execution of major program milestones, including design reviews, test readiness and system readiness reviews.
  • Interact with specialty engineering disciplines to ensure design assurance and holistic system compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications">
  • Past exposure in the Integration, Test and Evaluation of CS Products into Naval Platforms or equivalent complex Military Systems.
  • Substantial experience with Combat System requirements within a maritime context.
  • Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, methods, tools (DOORS and Rational Publishing Engine) and techniques.
  • Experience in the design and development of military systems, including utilisation of GFX and COTS components.
  • Substantial experience working in an engineering project multi-disciplinary environment (preferably within the defence industry).
  • Experience working with a broad set of internal stakeholders and external partnering organisations to achieve common goals.
  • Experience in development methodologies on complex modern systems using a documented process.
