Mercy Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our Strategy, Planning and Sustainability team. This is a key role in driving our organization's commitment to sustainability and reducing our ecological footprint.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and report on the Caring for People and Planet strategy and associated Action Plan.
  • Lead and manage key projects related to the execution of the Caring for People and Planet Action Plan.
  • Provide advice on climate initiatives in the design stage of building projects.
  • Represent Caring for People and Planet internally and externally.
  • Ensure communication of the Caring for People and Planet strategy across all areas of Mercy Health.
  • Provide leadership and expertise across Caring for People and Planet domains.
  • Champion sustainability within Mercy Health.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to integrate sustainability practices and environmental leadership in Health Services and Healthy Ageing.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in environmental management or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sustainability leadership in healthcare and/or aged care.
  • Project Management experience, preferably related to large-scale organization change with environmental sustainability initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in working productively with stakeholders and maintaining collaborative relationships.
  • Demonstrated expertise in climate change, sustainable models of care, and justice and equity programs.
  • Highly developed carbon literacy and numeracy and associated technical skills.
  • Experience in successful business case development and data analysis.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
