As a Cloud Operations Engineer at MongoDB, you will play a critical role in ensuring the consistent operational success of every MongoDB Atlas customer worldwide. You will work closely with a global team of engineers to guarantee uptime and resolve issues efficiently.

This role requires expertise in Linux system administration, networking technologies, database operations, and web and internet technologies. Experience with Amazon Web Services and other cloud infrastructure platforms, such as GCP and Azure, is also essential.

You will be responsible for designing and implementing internal tools, processes, and automation scripts to improve system performance and reduce Mean Time to Resolve for customer incidents. Additionally, you will participate in a weekly on-call rotation, where you will handle short-term customer incidents and cooperate with product management and cloud engineering organizations to identify areas for improvement.

The regular work week for this position is Tuesday to Saturday. We are looking for candidates based in Sydney who can contribute to our hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with a global team of engineers to ensure uptime guarantees
  • Design and implement internal tools and processes
  • Implement automation scripts to improve system performance
  • Participate in a weekly on-call rotation to handle customer incidents
  • Cooperate with product management and cloud engineering organizations

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience as an on-call DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Operations engineer
  • Expertise in Linux system administration and networking technologies
  • Knowledge of database operations and concepts
  • Knowledgeable about a wide range of web and internet technologies
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services and other cloud infrastructure platforms
  • Ability to write programs/scripts to solve systems problems and strategic objectives
  • A CS/CE degree or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in at least two programming languages: Java, Go, Python, or JavaScript

Salary Estimate: AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per year, depending on experience.
