Business Development Executive

The role of Business Development Executive will provide an opportunity to pioneer business growth initiatives in Australia's Defence environment. This exciting opportunity will support national security requirements.

The Opportunity

This role will be responsible for developing and executing business development activities associated with estate works and other Defence infrastructure programs. You will liaise and oversee bid teams to ensure deadlines are met and opportunities progressed to submission with strong probability of success.

  • Liaise and oversee bid teams to ensure deadlines are met and opportunities progressed to submission with strong probability of success.
  • Prepare business professionals and support contract negotiations for allocated key captures when down-selected and ensure that all attributes of the program's development are handed over for execution.
  • Build a well-defined and qualified pipeline of opportunities aligned with the 2025 Defence strategy.
  • Manage opportunities from initial identification, strategy development and pursuit management through to tender preparation and contract negotiation.
  • Conduct ongoing competitor and market analysis, ensuring awareness of any changes that may impact successful achievement of Defence Strategy and Business development objectives.
  • Develop marketing strategies and prepare budgets, reports, forecasts, and related information required.

The following ideal attributes are highly desired:

  • Business development or operational experience in Defence or Defence-related fields.
  • Degree or Diploma in an engineering or related Marketing/Management discipline.
  • Highly developed communication skills, strong negotiation and influencing skills, and ability to establish effective relationships at different levels internally and externally.
  • Excellent people management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong systems, operational, financial, resource planning, and reporting skills.
  • Must be an Australian Citizen for Defence Clearance purposes.
