Job Title: Support Worker

At Point Care Pty Ltd., we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of people with disabilities, providing support and care that enables them to live independently and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to clients in accordance with their NDIS plan, ensuring their needs are met and their goals are achieved.
  • Assist clients with daily living activities, such as eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming, promoting their independence and dignity.
  • Provide transportation assistance to clients, ensuring their safe and timely arrival at appointments and activities.
  • Offer respite care to clients and their families, providing a much-needed break and allowing them to recharge.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care plans and progress, ensuring seamless communication with the care team.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team, fostering strong relationships and trust.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for clients and staff.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, staying current with the latest developments and best practices in the NDIS field.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of high school or equivalent qualification.
  • Certificate 2 or 4 in Individual Support or willingness to work towards completion (highly regarded).
  • Lived experience or paid experience working with people with disabilities.
  • Availability to work day shifts, night shifts, sleepovers, and weekends.
  • Strong understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work with a diverse client base, understanding the different support needs of clients based on their abilities, cultural backgrounds, and language requirements.
  • Basic care and first aid skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
