Adult Mental Health Clinician Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to deliver holistic, person-centred and trauma-informed care to adults with complex mental health needs.

This role involves working closely with families and carers, as well as collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan and deliver comprehensive mental health care to the regional community of Wagga Wagga and surrounds.

The focus is on adults with acute, complex or high needs who may be difficult to engage in effective treatment and support.

Key Outcomes
  • Therapeutic engagement with adults experiencing, or at risk of deterioration of, a severe mental illness.
  • Better experience of care through integrated service models.
  • Prevention of unnecessary hospitalisations through timely access to clinical care.
  • Active use of a multiagency care plan for adults with, or at risk of, severe and complex mental illness.
  • Support for families and carers of people experiencing severe mental illness.

Our priority populations include individuals from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, LGBTIQ+ individuals, people experiencing social and/or economic disadvantage, and those at risk of withdrawing from usual activities and supports.

About You
  • You will possess an in-depth understanding of mental health services and the ability to provide youth mental health services in a curious and empathetic way.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Hold a relevant Australian qualification, such as a Counsellor, Psychologist, Social Worker or Registered Nurse, or a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
