Rural Support Operations Specialist

This role is a critical part of our operational and business support functions. As a key team member, you will be responsible for delivering day-to-day services to rural fire brigades across the area.
Key Responsibilities- Support emergency responses by providing operational guidance, mentoring, and leadership at incident sites or control centers.
- Maintain heavy plant registers, conduct equipment audits, and ensure operational preparedness across the region.
- Assist in bushfire mitigation activities, including risk identification, advice provision, and community education.
- Collaborate with operational teams to plan, procure, maintain, and dispose of equipment items.
- Support fleet and station maintenance plans, ensuring assets are available for planned maintenance and disposal.
- Represent the team at brigade and group meetings to provide updates, expert advice, and assist with issue resolution.
- Coordinate training programs to ensure volunteers receive necessary skills and knowledge.
- Must meet mandatory requirements as outlined in the RFSQ Rural Officer One (RFSO1) role description.
- Prior experience working with volunteers or in volunteer organizations is highly desirable.
