Procurement Specialist - Opportunity Summary

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to manage duties associated with the onboarding of suppliers, quoting, negotiation, selection, and purchase order placement of indirect, production, and aftermarket products and services.

  • Investigate potential suppliers for direct parts and repair services;
  • Identify and address shortfalls in supplier base to support commodity requirements;
  • Expedite quotes and orders from suppliers to ensure delivery, quality, and corporate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved;
  • Generate weekly and monthly Supply Chain Management reports and provide to relevant stakeholders;
  • Prepare import and export permits;
  • Provide administrative support for travel booking systems;
  • Monitor Supply Chain Management email inbox and distribute correspondence accordingly.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Verbal and written communication skills;
  • Administering affairs between GDLS and suppliers; ability to lead discussions and resolve problems;
  • Experience dealing with export/import and trade compliance requirements;
  • Cost analysis, proposal negotiations, including cost, terms, and conditions, and scopes of work;
  • Expediting and shortage management.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Relevant experience working with multiple stakeholders is essential. The position requires a National Police Check and eligibility for an Australian government security clearance.
