Job Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable and skilled individual to assist our transport team in Red Hill. This role involves supporting the co-ordination of pickup and delivery services for customers and stores, adhering to The Salvation Army's mission and values.

About the Role
  • To assist truck drivers in coordinating the pickup and delivery of donated goods in accordance with written schedules, following WHS manual handling procedures and other protocols.
  • To co-ordinate the delivery of furniture, goods, and clothing to retail or storage areas, as well as provide store rubbish collection as needed.
  • To operate vehicles safely and efficiently to minimise risk of injury, property damage, or loss of life, and ensure appropriate maintenance/service and cleanliness of vehicles.
  • To perform warehouse duties when required, such as sorting donations, baling rags, etc.
  • To drive small vehicles for which your vehicle licence is allowed.
Requirements
  • An appreciation of and willingness to promote and support the values and ethos of The Salvation Army.
  • Appropriate and valid driver's licence.
  • Willingness to undertake professional development as required to maintain skills for the role.
  • Willingness to undergo a criminal history check.
  • Knowledge of work health safety obligations and ability to practice these in the workplace in line with TSA policy & procedures and legislation.
  • Proven experience in the recycling/transport industry (desirable).
  • Physical fitness, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic.
  • Sound presentation and communication skills (both oral and written) to interact and network positively with various people.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
  • A team player, flexible with a positive attitude.
