About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Associate to contribute to our First Nations Social and Emotional Wellbeing research program.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent or original research on First Nations SEWB outcomes, identifying key factors that influence individual and community wellbeing.
  • Lead strengths-based research initiatives to improve SEWB for First Nations individuals, families, and communities through collaborative and culturally sensitive approaches.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with First Nations communities and stakeholders to co-create knowledge and solutions that address their unique needs and priorities.
  • Supervise and mentor junior researchers, manage complex projects and timelines, and ensure the delivery of high-quality research outputs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Identification as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is essential for this role.
  • A PhD in a related discipline (e.g., psychology, public health, Indigenous studies) and/or relevant work experience in conducting research on First Nations SEWB is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading research teams and mentoring junior researchers, especially in culturally diverse or interdisciplinary settings, is highly valued.
