X Ray Technologist Job Description

As an X Ray Technologist, you will perform radiographic and diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing injuries and disease.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Position patients appropriately for diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Adhere to radiation protection techniques.
  • Process images, review for proper identification and quality control, and prepare images for reading by a physician as well as radiologist overreads.
  • Operate digital and non-digital diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with approved radiology techniques and policies.
  • Aid providers with prescribed patient treatments in accordance with approved standards, policies, procedures, and protocol as necessary.
  • Maintain equipment, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs, arranging for repairs when needed.
  • Complete records, logs, and reports of work performed.
Requirements:
  • Compassionate and empathetic individual who can explain procedures to patients.
  • Familiarity with radiology techniques and policies.
  • Ability to operate various diagnostic imaging equipment.
  • Good communication skills.
