X Ray Technologist

Assisting physicians in diagnosing injuries and disease requires specialized skills and training as a radiographer. Performing radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures involves positioning patients correctly, utilizing digital and non-digital equipment, and adhering to radiation protection techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients with compassion and explain procedures to ensure a smooth experience.
  • Position patients effectively for diagnostic imaging procedures, prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
  • Employ ALARA radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure and maintain a safe environment.
  • Process images, review them for proper identification and quality control, and prepare them for reading by a physician or radiologist.
  • Operate both digital and non-digital diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring compliance with approved radiology techniques and all policies and procedures.
  • Aid healthcare providers in administering prescribed patient treatments in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain equipment, diagnose malfunctions, and perform minor repairs, arranging for professional assistance when needed.
  • Complete forms and maintain accurate records, logs, and reports of work performed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • An Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited two-year college or technical school, or relevant experience and training.
  • Registration or eligibility with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is preferred.
  • Licensure per state regulation is required.
