About this role:

Occupational Therapist in Education Settings
  • We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to support students across preschool, primary and secondary school environments.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience working with children & adults living with disabilities in the school/education setting.
  • Responsibilities include assessing and providing interventions 1:1, collaborating with educators, offering professional development and upskilling, assisting with assistive technology assessment and implementation, and writing timely documentation.

This is a dynamic role ideal for a clinician passionate about collaborative care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessing and providing evidence-based interventions for students with disabilities.
  • Collaborating with educators and support staff to implement communication strategies.
  • Offering professional development and upskilling for educators to embed communication strategies in the classroom.
  • Assisting clients and educators with assistive technology assessment, recommendations and applications.
  • Writing high-quality documentation and reports to support funding submissions and program recommendations.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy or related field.
  • PREFERRED EXPERIENCE INCLUSION AND CULTURAL DIVERSITY TRAINING AND WORKING WITH ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER COMMUNITIES.
  • Discipline-specific professional registration (e.g. AHPRA/SPA).
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC or Blue Card).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Police Check & International Police Check (if applicable).
  • Drivers licence & access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Car insurance.
  • Professional Indemnity & Public Liability insurance.
