About the Role

The Product Manager in our Denim department will play a key role in understanding the brand's target market and designing commercial products that meet seasonal trends and direction. This position is responsible for managing the garment development process, including fabric selection, trims, blocks, and color, to ensure timely product category execution in-store.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a product strategy that aligns with the brand's target market and seasonal trends.
  • Manage the garment development process, including fabric selection, trims, blocks, and color, to ensure timely product category execution in-store.
  • Analyze financial performance and identify key opportunities for growth in sales, margin, and stock turn.
  • Lead a team and monitor KPIs and targets.
  • Build relationships with key supply partners to maximize commercial opportunities.
  • Negotiate costs with suppliers to achieve the best possible rebates, exclusive products, and price points.
  • Use data to identify emerging trends and evolve the department buying strategy accordingly.
  • Conduct weekly competitor reviews and track promotional activity to determine opportunities to grow market share.
  • Collaborate with the broader Jay Jays team to ensure the branded range is effectively communicated through all channels and markets.

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of range buying experience with a proven track record in a similar role.
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
  • Highly developed strategic planning capabilities and a solid critical path manager.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Previous experience dealing with a broad range of suppliers.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Technical knowledge of denim is advantageous.
