About the Role

The Underground Grader Operator is responsible for executing health and safety tasks, operating graders for underground mine development and production, and inspecting related equipment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct pre-starts on equipment prior to operation
  • Initiate and participate in equipment handovers with the Underground Shift Supervisor and cross-shift operator
  • Operate the underground grader safely, efficiently, and productively
  • Exercise good judgment and be innovative in selecting, using, and improving procedures, processes, and techniques to solve problems and execute tasks
  • Operate equipment to best practice to minimize damage
  • Provide assistance to other mining operators as required
  • Coach new and inexperienced operators
  • Maintain roads and drains to a high standard
  • Conduct manual scaling techniques as required
  • Share knowledge and experiences with the crew and management
Key Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Grader Operator
  • Western Australian DGSC (desirable)
  • Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge of underground equipment
  • Current West Australian Shot-firing license (desirable)
  • Underground Metalliferous Mining Certificate II, III or IV (desirable)
