Racing Victoria is seeking a highly skilled Wagering Licensing & Regulation Specialist to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is pivotal in the licensing and regulation of Victorian Bookmakers and will report directly to the Manager Wagering Licensing and Regulation.
Key Responsibilities- Process race fields applications from Wagering Service Providers (WSPs) to bet on Victorian Thoroughbred Racing (VTR) and monitor their compliance with conditions of approval.
- Manage customer complaints and disputes related to Victorian Bookmakers and WSPs approved to bet on VTR.
- Assist in the licensing and regulation of Victorian Bookmakers, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
- Interpret, analyze, and interrogate wagering data to inform regulatory decisions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including WSPs, Bookmakers, and other industry partners.

Requirements- Strong knowledge of betting rules and regulations, with a good understanding of thoroughbred racing, Bookmaker, and WSP operations.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to write well-structured compliance and audit reports.

- Relevant tertiary or post-graduate qualification(s).
