About the Role

The Principal Database Engineer is a key position within TAFE NSW, responsible for developing, planning, and delivering complex systems architecture. This role requires guidance and advice to ensure the successful build and implementation of products or platforms in alignment with relevant roadmaps.

The successful candidate will design, evaluate, test, and build stable and scalable technological solutions to address diverse business challenges. This will involve adhering to relevant policies, standards, best practices, and architectural strategy to ensure system resilience, longevity, and solutions.

This role will also provide technical consulting and subject matter expertise throughout technological solution projects. The candidate will identify interdependencies and exceptions, mitigate or escalate risks, and ensure alignment with Systems strategy and architecture.

TAFE NSW is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Database Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a degree qualification in a related field or equivalent significant experience.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing database services and infrastructure in a complex environment. They will also have experience in leading database design and development and implementing data modelling best practices.
