Job Opportunity: After Hours Bail Service Worker

This role plays a critical part in the Youth Justice Court Advice and Bail Service (YJCABS), comprising the Youth Justice Bail After Hours Service (YJBAS) team, the Enhanced Bail Supervision and Support (EBSS) team, and other units.

The YJBAS provides expert bail advice to Bail Justices and the Weekend Online Remand Court (WORC) outside regular working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Key responsibilities involve:

  • Conducting thorough bail assessments, creating detailed reports, and offering authoritative advice to Bail Justices and the WORC.
  • Responding to electronic monitoring alerts after hours, helping young people and families troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Establishing effective working relationships with complex young people and families.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports, as well as prescribed registers and client information systems.

Successful candidates will possess advanced knowledge of the Youth Justice system, including relevant legislation principles and the Victorian Youth Justice program.

Requirements
