Sinch MessageMedia, a global leader in Cloud Communications, is seeking a seasoned senior tax professional to oversee tax compliance across ANZ, Asia, and the UK. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive initiatives and provide essential tax advisory support for regional projects and Sinch-wide initiatives.

As the regional tax champion reporting to the Group Financial Controller APAC, you will collaborate closely with local external tax advisors, the FinOps APAC team (in Melbourne and Singapore), and Group Tax (in Stockholm) to drive tax strategies.

About the Role
  • Manage corporate income taxes, indirect taxes/VAT/GST filings, FBT and withholding tax obligations within the region to ensure timely and accurate lodgements in adherence to local regulations.
  • Prepare and manage all local quarterly tax effect accounting, reconciliations and reporting to Group according to requisite deadlines.
  • Prepare and manage year end current and deferred tax calculations as part of local annual external audits.
  • Support all transfer pricing requirements within the region in partnership with Group Transfer Pricing and local FinOps APAC team, including review and execution of local strategies and documentation across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Own external tax advisor relationships with the aim of full compliance across region and effectively engage them as needed to arrive at low risk but commercially viable solutions.

This position requires:

  • A minimum of 10+ years of corporate tax experience preferably from an enterprise environment or Big-4 background.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax effect accounting and standards.
  • Strong Australian tax (particularly SGEs) and international tax knowledge.
  • Exposure to transfer pricing.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to drive projects, deliver results and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Highly effective communicator across all organizational levels.

We offer a competitive salary range of $160,000 - $220,000 per annum, depending on experience.
